The Saugatuck Reservoir, an 827-acre manmade lake in Fairfield County, offers an angler's paradise just off the I-95 corridor. From Newtown Turnpike, you can catch beautiful views through the woods surrounding the reservoir, often with reflections of the sky in the still water.

Connecticut Audubon Society - H. Smith Richardson is not only a land preservation project but also a Christmas tree farm. The preserve is open every day, all year-round, from dawn to dusk. Its a great spot to go bird watching.

This sand and rock beach will be your spot if you're looking for a peaceful place to rest or even meditate. Although the beach is short, it is well-equipped with restroom and changing area facilities, as well as picnic tables.

If you're looking for a relaxing time and maybe a dip in the water, Penfield Beach is one of the five town beaches in Fairfield. Next to the beach, you can also find a snack bar and restrooms.
