러시아 식민지 알렉산드로프카(Alexandrowka)는 포츠담 도심 북쪽에 위치해 있습니다. 프로이센의 프리드리히 빌헬름 3세 국왕은 1826년부터 1828년 사이에 원래 62명의 군인으로 구성되었던 합창단 중 마지막으로 남은 12명의 러시아 가수를 위해 이 마을을 조성했습니다.

Shortly after his accession to the throne, Frederick William III commissioned the architect David Gilly to rebuild Paretz as a model Prussian village. The new village consisted of approximately ten farms, each largely of a uniform design. In addition to a number of buildings with specific functions, he also had two small gatehouses built to the right and left of the access road, marking the eastern entrance to the village. Luisenplatz in Potsdam is located at the western end of the inner-city pedestrian zone Brandenburger Straße in front of the Brandenburg Gate and thus outside the city limits of 1733. Three streets lead west from the square: Zeppelinstraße (B 1, formerly Luisenstraße) towards Brandenburg an der Havel, Zimmerstraße into the Potsdam district of Brandenburger Vorstadt and the avenue to Sanssouci to the Green Grid, a representative entrance to the royal-imperial Sanssouci Park.

Two small gatehouses to the right and left of the road marked the eastern entrance to the village; one formerly contained mainly a sheepfold, the other the shepherd's dwelling.
