St. Mary's Church, construction began in the 13th century, is the visible landmark of Wittstock. From the tower you have a good view of the town and the surrounding area. The altar is decorated with a structure (made in 1550 by the Lübeck woodcarver Claus Berg). Above it is an altar structure (early 16th century), which probably belongs to a side altar. Also worth seeing are a late Gothic sacrament shrine, a baroque wooden baptismal font, a Lütkemüller organ, the pulpit and the Madonna sculpture.

But it is very cramped in places. There is room for 1.5 cars. In the season it can get tight. Especially when there is oncoming traffic or when no consideration is given to cyclists, hikers, runners, etc.

The cycle path runs along a former railway line, so it's actually straight for miles. Perfect for racing bikes. There are a few roots near Lärz, so you have to be careful.

Very well-kept bathing area, which the "Erholungsort Hütte" really takes care of. As for the water quality: it is OK, but there are better lakes in the area. The Schlabornsee in Hütte is very busy and is therefore somewhat inferior to the isolated lakes.

Baker Reinhold is OK. He actually comes from Wesenberg, Rheinsberg is "just" a branch. Baker Läge on Berliner Strasse is still better, even though the owner recently (2023) changed.

Beautiful beach with a jetty. Also suitable for families as it has a playground. Next door is the Alfred Wegner Museum. Also worth it if you are interested in polar research.

The surroundings are really beautiful, as is the church. I didn't notice a cafe nearby, just a nice playground.
