Steep, busy with cars and tourists, but beautiful scenery. Worth the pain.

Awesome massive descent if you come from the right side Big pillars either side of the pass make it feel like a canyon

Great views over the White Peaks, it's not too tough a climb either.

Great climb up through the woodland to Longstone edge for some big vistas. Plenty of choice to go for the gravel paths or stick the the road after.

Without doubt one of the best views around for miles. If you have arrived there from climbing up Mam Nick it makes it all the more rewarding.

Gorgeous in either direction, almost always traffic free. Has roadside campers most of the year round.

Fast downhill. Be ready on the breaks as there are some tighter bends in places and the road c an be fairly narrow.

It's not the highest or toughest in the Peak District, but it's quiet and pretty and enjoyable to ride.

Great climb, you soon see where your fitness is at on this! Great views from the top and some much needed downhill.

The road is starting to slip near the top before the hairpin and the council have been out surveying it as there's a clear section that's likely to collapse in the near future with a few more heavy rains/snowfalls. It could soon end up like the Broken Road on the other side of the hill.

Get mega pissed here after riding at Cannings to cheer you up .. then blast down into Sheffield half cut… proper fun

Not so much hard as gruelling. This alpine-style climb with a long lead-in will force you to find a tempo and stick to it since the gradient deviates little until the top, steepest few hundred metres. The sense of achievement upon reaching the flat summit plateau is rewarded with fantastic views (or dense cloud and a significant drop in temperature due to the exposed position) across some of Derbyshire's finest empty moorland over Bleaklow, back towards the Kinder plateau and ahead down into Glossop. The surface is generally excellent, although traffic can be intimidating, especially in busy summer months.

Fantastic cafe, most reasonably priced in the village. Cakes, warm food, and staff are all top notch 🤓👌

Abney road climb is my favourite road climb in the Peak District

Great viewing point for the river Wye below.

Great way to cycle from Ladybower dam or Bamford to Hope and avoid the main road traffic. Quiet most of the time with the odd tractor, popular with hikers and cyclists. Wonderful views looking upto Shatton Moor.

Great village, very pretty. Nice place to stop when the sun is out . Bigger than it looks if you cycle along some of the back lanes leading down to Chee dale, Litton, Cressbrook etc.
