4월 8, 2025, Romanesque Church of Saint-Sulpice
The Romanesque Church of St. Sulpice in the canton of Vaud was built by the Abbey of Cluny in the 11th and 12th centuries. It was initially dedicated to St. Sulpice and later to Mary Magdalene. After the occupation by Bern in 1536, the church became Protestant and became the property of the city of Lausanne. The priory disappeared after 1536 or was repurposed. The nave collapsed after the Reformation and was never rebuilt. The church is now a national historic monument. (Source: www.notrehistoire.ch).

Fountain juste in front of this beautiful house for refilling water bottles :-) + the road ahead is quiet (no cars allowed) and the view a little further on is superb

In 1968, with its 12 employees (!), the International Olympic Committee no longer had enough room at the Villa Mon-Repos. The city council graciously offered the IOC the Château de Vidy. A lease was signed on 1 July 1972 “for one Olympiad”, with tacit renewal. The IOC is still the guest of Vidy. Since then, two annexes have been built, and soon there will be another new building with meeting rooms and a restaurant. With its 163 staff members in Vidy, the IOC deserves it!

Nice place in the vineyards above Lake Geneva. At the new church there is a bench to rest and a viewpoint. There is also a well to fill up with water nearby.
