Haus Graven moated castle was probably built around 1300 as a successor to the "Motte Schwanenmühle" located approximately 800 meters to the north. The castle was completely destroyed, and the outer bailey was rebuilt around 1700.

The fish ladder in the Brückerbach stream attracts rare fish directly from the Rhine toward the Düssel River. For these fish, armourstones and large stone blocks up to one meter in diameter were arranged in steps. This reduces the current velocity and gives fish the opportunity to overcome the incline in the first place. They can "catch their breath" during the ascent in specially created rest areas. The difference in height between the upper and lower waters is reduced by individual stone sills.

Since mid-June 2025, cyclists have had a new, excellent surface between Hahnenfurth and Rittergut Schöller. The already scenic route will now be even more enjoyable to glide along. What a carpet 😉
