The site is part of the "Enchanting Legends of the Volme Valley." Numerous tales of witches and demons are said to have gathered here in ancient times. According to some legends, the witches' broomsticks can still be heard flying after dark. An audio station is installed at a bench near the oak tree. Visitors can scan a QR code with their smartphone to experience one of the local legends as an audio drama.

Hiking around the reservoir is great, but if you want a fantastic view from above, you have to go to the Unneberg Tower – highly recommended! 👍

There are beautiful floodplains at the Genkeltalsperre!

Even though it's not particularly large, you can almost always find a spot here. It's also a great place for a quick detour to the Aggertalsperre, located directly across the street.

The Genkel Runde is nice for walking and also very suitable for jogging.
