Very beautiful wood carving along the roadside

The Saarschleife Treetop Walk is a 1250-meter-long treetop walk in Orscholz, a district of the municipality of Mettlach. It was built in July 2016 according to plans by the Schönberg architect Josef Stöger. Located above the Cloef, it offers views of the Saarschleife. The tourist attraction is operated by Erlebnis Akademie AG. The 1250-meter-long treetop walk leads from the Cloef Atrium to an observation tower built above the Cloef viewpoint. The walk is located at a height of up to 23 meters and has a minimum width of 2.5 meters. Four educational stations are integrated into the walk. These provide information about quartzite, the beech forest, the Saarschleife, and deadwood. A Rialto Bridge and a slide have been incorporated for children. A special attraction is the 42-meter-high observation tower with a 70-square-meter platform. The path to the top is made up of switchbacks with rest areas. The trail is completely accessible and has a maximum gradient of only 6%. The trail is open year-round (except on December 24th), but the opening hours vary according to the season. Very steep, and the forest is gone. It's only suitable as a connecting route.

A great place with wonderful hiking trails

Built in 1975 by the Saarwaldverein, it was restored and expanded from 2006 to 2008 by the Mitlosheim Association of Clubs.

Attention for inexperienced people

Very nice section for cycling, running and hiking. Very idyllic. Unfortunately the Dellborner mill is no longer open. You could still have a coffee here. The path leads past the dream loop "Kleiner Lückner". All in all, highly recommended
