It’s a key crossing point for cyclists following the Saimaa Canal route and features a pedestrian and cycle path separated from traffic. The bridge is especially scenic at sunrise or sunset, with boats often passing below.

Kirjamoinsalmi is a narrow strait located in the eastern part of Finland, connecting the waters of Lake Saimaa. It is the perfect place to stop off and admire the scenic landscape.

probably the most scenic bridge in South Karelia (with the exception of the Imatrankoski bridge for those brief moments when the rapids are running wild), stinky paper mill on the one side, scenery on the other (fortunately the bike path is on the prettier side as well)

the official bike route to Taipalsaari goes through here for some reason, no idea why, the path next to rt 408 is better (would ride on the roadway if going this way)

your nearest option for an archipelago loop from Lappeenranta, pretty quiet road running through the woods (and the odd field or two), gently rolling hills, okay asphalt, nice views from the Toijansalmi bridge at the western end
