The Villa Blumenthal is considered to be one of the first prefabricated houses in timber panel construction. The prefabricated villa in historicist forms was built according to a design by the architect Johannes Lange of the Wolgaster Actien-Gesellschaft für Holzverarbeitung from pitch pine, the particularly weather-resistant and age-resistant wood of the North American pitch pine. The house has a shingle roof as well as verandas and windows with carved decorations. For the 1893 World Exhibition in Chicago, the villa was dismantled again in order to rebuild it on site and exhibit it. In the villa, Blumenthal wrote the comedy “Im Weißen Rößl” together with Gustav Kadelburg in 1896, which served as the basis for the operetta “Im weissen Rößl”, which premiered in 1930 and was later filmed several times. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villa_Blumenthal

The famous view from Gosaumühlstrasse of the Protestant and Catholic churches, the village, Lake Hallstatt and the mountains is one of the most shared images in the world. The viewpoint for the most famous photo motif in Hallstatt is about 5 minutes from the market square and the boat dock in the center. You just have to walk north along Lake Hallstatt.
