Presumably a Roman bridge pier made of a cuboid stone in the "Roman Gorge" in Göriach. In 1969, a section of the so-called "Roman Road," the ancient road leading toward Virunum am Zollfeld, north of Velden am Wörthersee, was examined and recorded. The route runs from Villach via Kaltschach, Sand, Kantnig, Weinzierl, Fahrendorf, Kranzlhofen, and Göriach to the area of the southern Forstsee lake and from there to the northern shore of Lake Wörthersee, which is reached east of Unterwinklern. Retaining walls, pavement, a bridge pier, and track grooves with a track width of 93.5 cm, carved into the rock in places, were identified and partially exposed on this section.

The Saissersee is a moor lake with a pleasant water temperature. In summer it can reach over 25 degrees. At this point you have access to the water. This makes the place ideal for a break and for swimming.

The church of Sternberg is a private noble church and dates back to the Count of Sternberg (1170 and 1180). In 1285 it is mentioned as a parish church. In 1311 the church and castle passed to the prince, in 1329 to the Counts of Ortenburg and in 1418 to the Counts of Cilli. In 1457 Sternberg Castle was destroyed in the Cillier inheritance struggle and the church was damaged. It was founded on a ritual site in pre-Celtic times. In Roman times a temple was dedicated to the Celtic goddess Junonae. Christians recognized these places of power and often built churches and chapels that were usually dedicated to Saint Michael or Saint George. It is located at a height of 733 meters, from which you have a magnificent view of the entire valley from Dobratsch to Wörthersee including the Karawanken. Which makes it one of the best Panorama. If you have the opportunity, go there, because it is worth a look! And if you are hungry, you can eat at the Messnerei inn, very good too :)
