Stratton is a village in the town of Eustis on the shore of the Dead River. This small village is very bear bones with all the usual essentials including a post office, inn/cafe, general store, and some historical 19th century buildings.

Colby College sits on 714 acres at the top of Mayflower Hill in Waterville. It's known for its New-Georgian architecture, and has an enrollment of just 2,000 students.

Rome is a blink and you miss it kind of town, but where it shines is when you get off the main road and find one of its beautiful lakeside accommodations. Things can book out well in advance so if you plan on making a stop near Great Pond be sure to make your reservations early.

One of dozens of lakes in the region East Pond is known for being relatively quiet and thus being a good spot for fishing, swimming, & kayaking without having to worry about a ton of boat traffic. There are a number of camps & cabins to choose from if you'd like to stay for a while.

This shallow pond is quick to change with the seasons, meaning you can go for a swim and then ice skate in relatively short order. It's also a popular spot for kayaking & fishing. Nearby Smithfield has a good little General Store if you need any supplies.

Mill Island Park is a great little park in the middle of the Kennebec River. There are picnic area, walking paths, a playground, and more.

This public footbridge was built in the early 1900s with a toll of 1 cent. After less than a year the original bridge was destroyed in a flood and subsequently rebuilt. The toll was also raised to 2 cents, which is where the common name comes from though the official name is still Ticonic Footbridge. These days there is no toll to cross the bridge, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
