Horseshoe Lake is a beautiful body of water located in Mount Hood National Forest. There are campsites circling the water, swimming holes, and restrooms. The Lake gets its name from its horseshoe shape with a small channel on the south side. This would be a prime spot to pack in an inflatable paddleboard.

Cigar Lake is a good water source, but provides no shade along the shoreline. Be careful if you want to camp in this area due to the dead trees that might fall any time.

Cigar Lake is a beautiful alpine lake situated within a burned area of the forest. Despite the death around the waters, the reservoir's waters are clear and full of life. If you take a break here, you'll be welcomed to different picturesque backdrops.

The shoreline of Upper Lake is a victim of the Lionshead wildfire of 2020, but the lake itself is still beautiful. There are some tree trunks if you want to rest for a minute.

Head Lake is located just north of Olallie Lake Resort. The blue waters might invite you for a dip since there is no swimming in Olallie Lake.

Beautiful crystal clear alpine lake. The water can be refreshing to cool off after a challenging run. It's a great spot to sit on the shore, take a break and enjoy the scenery.

Cabot Lake is a lovely picturesque spot just a short distance from the trail. It's a great place to stop after a run, take a break, and even jump in for a swim to cool off. Here, you can see orange-bellied aquatic salamanders, commonly called water dogs, in the water and along the shoreline.

This is a pristine alpine lake amidst a dense forest of Ponderosa Pines. The north shore offers a spectacular viewpoint of Mount Washington. On the west end of the lake, there is an excellent view of Black Butte.
