We drove this section before the camper vans finished their breakfast. They seemed to love this route too; it was truly wonderfully quiet and beautiful.

We stayed at the Sogndalstrand Kulturhotell in this beautifully preserved old fishing village. The rooms were decorated in traditional style, and we felt like we were in a captain's cabin. After a short walk around the village, we relaxed in front of the house and enjoyed the evening sun. In the evening, we had dinner in the adjoining restaurant. The local beer, "BergStout Glück Auf" (see photo), was particularly interesting.

If you follow the Rameheiveien from Øyvoll, you can reach a beautiful viewpoint with a bench and map by bike or on foot. From there you have a great view over the fjords between Farsund and Øyvoll.

The section has a good chance of winning the "worst cycle path in the world" award. A bypass of the E39 that is unsuitable for touring cyclists has been made into a path that is even unsuitable for pedestrians. Widened to 1m but with loose grus that hasn't even been rolled yet. Unusable because of the steep gradients, even with asphalt. Better stay on the European route!
