The Cunningham Lake Pavilion is a great spot for a break if you are riding the Lake Cunningham Trail. It is a good place to get out of the sun on a hot day and enjoy the wonderful views of the lake.

The lake was created in 1977 for recreation and flood management. It was drained in 2006 for restoration and reopened in 2010. The lake is open to sailing and has a wide, concrete, partially shaded bike path that circumnavigates the lake.

Neale Woods is a nature preserve and educational center located in Omaha, Nebraska. It covers over 600 acres of diverse ecosystems, and you can explore a network of trails that wind through hardwood forests, prairies, and along the Missouri River bluffs.

The trail around the lake is a wide concrete path with a mix of shade and sun. It is a little more crowded here near the marina versus the northern side of the lake.

East of the trail in the direction of the creek is the Papio Tract, which was acquired separately and is now part of teh preserve. There are prescribed burns to maintain the prairie all along the creek.

The Pioneer Cemetery is in a patch of trees down the hill from Boocker Point. The cemetery and the preserve are owned by the University of Nebraska.
