Riverside park right along the Sacramento River, at the marina across from the junction with the Barge Canal.

This is an historic metal truss swing bridge that spans the American River. Cycling over it will provide fantastic views down the waterway.

Avoid. Homeless everywhere. Trash/waste on bike paths. Not fun. Similar unpleasantness throughout the downtown Sacramento area. Reported hit-and-run car vs. cyclist downtown while we were here. On the bright side, 30 minutes away, Folsom Lake area (Placer County) paths are truly awesome rides. We are already planning our next visit there.

There is a smooth, paved path encircling the park, offering an ideal spot for a casual run. Feel free to complete as many laps as you desire. Conveniently located along the path are water fountains and restrooms.

This is a lovely neighbourhood park with well-maintained walking trails, picnic areas and restrooms. A small stream runs between the park and a multi-use trail will connect you to Wild Rose Park and North Natomas Regional Park.

The Tower Bridge is a vertical lift bridge that crosses the Sacramento River, connecting Sacramento with West Sacramento. This 160-foot iconic landmark has been in service since 1935.

The Delta King Hotel is an authentic 285-foot riverboat, originally constructed in Glasgow, Scotland in 1927 and a unique place in Californian history. While on this pier, you can also enjoy views of the Sacramento River and Old Sacramento.

This trail follows the eastern bank of the Sacramento River, passing by Old Sacramento to the American River. The scenic views along the way are absolutely stunning and enhance the overall peacefulness of your running experience.
