There are plenty of great campsites along Little River Road. Chicago Boy is just the one we stayed at. It had a semi-decent staircase that led down to the river. Highly recommend for some rustic bikepacking. Campsites out there are free but first come first serve. None, if very few have bathroom amenities.

This lake was formed during the Wisconsinian glacial age, more than 10,000 years ago. It would once have been an arm of Lake Michigan. The lake is great for water sports and outdoor activities. There are also plenty of restaurants around if you get peckish.

The sandy shore of Lake Michigan are perfect for a spot of mid-ride relaxation! You can sunbathe on the beach whilst gazing upon the lighthouse and gentle waves of the lake. There are restroom facilities at the beach house. If you swim, pay attention to the water as rip currents can occur.

The northern beach with clean toilets and ample parking. Well maintained

The Big M Mountain Biking Trails are home of the Lumberjack 100 endurance mountain biking race that takes place in June every year and is part of the National Ultra Endurance Series. The Big M Trailhead has a small parking lot (a five Dollar parking fee applies).

This winding road follows the meanders of the little river. This is a nice change, after the straight roads that you have taken before. Know that you can also follow the current of this magnificent stream by boat.

This movable bridge over the Manistee River connects the northern part of the city to the southern one. Beautiful buildings are visible, as well as the garden of the North Riverwalk Memorial Park.
