The museum 🎨🌿🏛️ houses the world's largest collection of Munch's works: over 28,000 paintings, prints, drawings, and sculptures. These include many famous works as well as lesser-known treasures. The building was designed by the Spanish architectural firm Estudio Herreros. It impresses with its striking, geometric form and open, light-filled design, featuring expansive glass facades that offer views of the Oslofjord.

The bridge gives you access to Uloya, an island of former fishermen. Today, the island is best known and visited for its functionalist-style villas.

In addition to the impressively good and comprehensive exhibition on Munch's works and life, it is also worth mentioning that the museum has a restaurant on the 12th floor. From there, a staircase leads to the rooftop bar, with an outdoor terrace and 🤩 views of the city and harbor. The bar and restaurant are also open after the museum's visiting hours have ended.

The café is nice but when the sun is shining it is completely overcrowded with Oslo's youth having fun on the beach.
