It's a pretty long haul to this summit but the views are stupendous. They're made even better by a restored fire tower at the top, originally built in 1918. Watch for wildflowers in season!

Fish Creek Pond (to the north and east), together with Square Pond (to the south and west), forms the centerpiece of Fish Creek Pond Campground. You'll find lots of sandy shoreline and water access around the lake, but be aware that motorized boat traffic is allowed, so just how peaceful it is may vary.

Seymour Mountain is part of the Seward Range and is a worthwhile climb, boasting stunning views along the way. With a trail distance of 14 miles round-trip, an elevation of 4,120 feet, and an ascent of 2,355 feet, it's a challenging but rewarding climb. There is some scrambling involved, so please assess the risk and hike responsibly.

Donaldson Mountain offers a bare 4,140-foot summit with its panoramic wilderness vistas over the High Peaks.

In good weather, you can safely run the whole loop as a round. After several rainy days the northeastern part was too wet for jogging.
