카울리츠 카운티 주변 인기 장소
This is NOT fun to cross. A very narrow, junk-filled bike lane, a steep climb and steep descent, cars flying by at freeway speeds, and expansion joints wide enough to swallow and entire bike tire. This is bad enough that the STP ride organizers actually batch riders together and has motorcycles escort each group across. Major caution point.

The Lewis and Clark Bridge is a cantilever bridge that spans the Columbia River between Longview, Washington, and Rainier, Oregon. At the time of its completion, it had the longest cantilever span in the United States. The bridge opened on March 29, 1930 as a private bridge named Longview Bridge. At the time, it was the longest and tallest cantilever bridge in the United States. Washington state purchased the bridge in 1947 and the toll was removed in 1965 after the bridge was paid for. In 1980, the bridge was dedicated as the Lewis and Clark Bridge in honor of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The bridge is 2,722 ft (830 m)[1] long with 210 ft (64 m) vertical clearance. The main span is 1,200 feet (366 m) long and the top of the bridge is 340 feet (104 m) above the river. It was designed by Joseph Strauss, the engineer of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Now accessible only via the Blue Lake Trailhead (or a thru-hike), this bridge offers safe passage across Sheep Canyon and its riotous creek, both of which cut across the western flank of Mount St. Helens. Leave yourself a little time to hike upstream and see a waterfall.

If you'd like to avoid crowds around the other side of Coldwater Lake, starting here and hiking northeast gets you some nice views over the lake from elevation. Or, if you don't mind walking beside the road for a short distance, you can use this trailhead to link a complete, challenging loop around the lake.

All in all, the Boundary Trail runs some 57 miles, mostly east-west along the north side of Mount St. Helens. Shorter chunks of it, like this one, are handy for linking trailheads or completing trail loops.

The South Fork Toutle River is a reliable water source along the Loowit Trail. There are also spots to pitch your tent at the south side of the river. A rope will help you to climb over the loose rock down and up the river bank.
