Just west of Salem, Eola Hills Legacy Estate Vineyard is a fun detour for bikers looking to unwind with a view. Open Friday to Sunday from 12–5 pm, the tasting room offers wine flights, glasses, bottles, sparkling, and dessert wines. Enjoy sweeping vineyard views from the patio, bring your own food, or take a short “wiking” hike around the property.

A beautiful and scenic destination west of Salem is the home to a variety of plants and wildlife. Cycling is allowed on the roads through the refuge which provide access to hiking trails within the interior of the refuge.

Originally built for the Salem, Falls City and Western Railway in 1912-13, the Union Street Railroad Bridge is now converted for bicycle and pedestrian use to connect West Salem and downtown.

Luckiamute Landing sits between the confluence of Willamette, Luckiamute and Santiam Rivers. A flat trail going between trees and grassland leads you to a riparian and humble free camping site along the river. This is not such a popular hike, so you might find some solitude at any time of the year. This area is home to many species of birds, so it is a great spot for bird-watching. This spot also has the second most diverse fish population of Willamette’s Valley, according to Oregon State University research. During the rainy season, the trail can be wet and slippery, but still doable.
