The Fox River Paper Company Mills are also referred to as the Fox River Paper Company Historic District. Check out the Romanesque-styled Ravine/Rag Mills, the Italianate-styled flour Lincoln Mill, and the Italianate-styled Fox River Mill. Today, the buildings built from 1883 to 1915 are used as apartments, a hydroelectric canal, and a privately owned generating station.

Hearthstone Historic House is sometimes called the birthplace of green energy because it was the first private house to be illuminated using hydroelectricity from a central Edison system. Take a tour and see the Edison electroliers, light switches, and more that still remain intact in the house. The Friendship State Trail is 4 miles long, end to end, and goes through forests, farmland, and next to lakes. The trail connects the Fox River State Trail in Forest Junction and is carefully maintained and operated by Calumet County.

Doty Cabin is the historic replica of James Duane Doty's house. The original was built from 1844 to 1845. The cabin is only open to go inside from June through Labor Day, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
