Mallard Lake is a treasure for birdwatchers. It occupies the south end of Creve Couer Lake Park and acts as a catch-basin of sorts to contain sediment before it washes into the larger Creve Couer Lake. As such, you may notice that the waters of Creve Couer Lake are much clearer than the waters of Mallard Lake.

Known locally as “Devil’s Boot Cave,” this natural overhang carved in sandstone resembles the shape of a boot and stretches roughly 25 feet deep and wide, near Marthasville. Once used as a pioneer shelter and noted by local schools for nature trips, the site offers a little geological curiosity beside the trail—a hands-on reminder of Missouri’s limestone landscape and early frontier life. Great for a quick stop and photo op!

Forest Park is a huge recreational park in the heart of St. Louis. The park is perfect for relaxing, biking, golfing, and exploring the various cultural offerings at the Museum of History, St. Louis Zoo, Art Museum, or Planetarium. It's also easily accessible by metro.

The bike lanes here are wonderful. The connectors could be improved though!

Creve Coeur Lake is a 320-acre lake located in Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park. The park dates back to 1945 and now offers a place for picnics, non-motorized boating, and fishing.

One of 3 major highway bridges over the Missouri between Weldon and St Charles, MO. The KATY trail through here is as smooth as concrete and the scenery is beautiful!

This is a scenic lake on the south side of Creve Couer Lake Park. There are options to do a running loop around the lake and marsh joining onto Creve Couer Lake to the north, or follow Creve Couer Connector to the Veteran's Memorial Bridge.

Here you will reach a historic iron bridge that spans over Femme Osage Creek just before entering Defiance. This is a particularly significant part of the Katy Trail, adding to its historical charm.
