Eight Track on the west and Bobcat/Rock Ledges to the east. Both start with a climb and 8 track is the easier start. Oodles of gravel parking. Port-a-potties at the boat ramp.

The Eight Track Loop is a popular hiking and mountain biking trail that traverses a number of different biospheres above Lake Jacomo. Expect numerous stream crossings. The trailhead itself offers stunning views across Lake Jacomo to the bluffs.

The Mirror Pool, situated between W 61st Terrace and W 62nd Street along Ward Parkway, covers almost the entire median block. As part of a beautification effort along the parkway in 1924, its initial purpose of a reflecting pool also became a place for miniature boating and ice skating. The north end of the Mirror Pool features a commemorative plaque that recognizes the American Planning Association's designation of Ward Parkway as a Great Street through Great Places in America in 2012.

The Minor Park Trailhead is a great access point for trails along Blue River. The park, which used to be a private farm, has tennis courts, picnic tables, and river access. Minor Park is along the historic Oregon Trail, Santa Fe Trail, and California Trails. This is where the first major river crossing took place for westward travelers – keep an eye out for historic signposts and wagon ruts. The Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park is a 22-acre sculpture park with 36 sculptures. The sculpture park is an exhibit on the campus of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
