In parts, a genuine little mountain hike with open trails and some quite challenging sections... Walnut Mountain Park is located in Liberty, New York, and is the second highest mountain in Sullivan County. The entire mountain was once owned by the Walnut Mountain Hotel, which stood on the summit. Now a lost place, the hotel's foundations and chimney are still discernible. Today, a multitude of small, steep, or longer, leisurely trails lead in and around the mountain... there's something for everyone...

Wurtsboro is a small village in Sullivan County that was once a bustling town along the D&H Canal. Today, it features several cafés and restaurants, and two trails, the Long Path and the D&H Canal Towpath Trail, pass through the southern end of the village.

The New Munson Diner welcomes guests every day from 7  a.m. to 9  p.m., offering a cozy atmosphere and delicious food at reasonable prices. This classic American diner has excellent reviews for its portions and taste.

Mongaup Pond is really a 120-acre lake with a campground and recreational area circling the property. There are some trails, forest roads, and pavement that form a loop around the water that is great for running.

Wear your clothes in layers and remove them to avoid sweating, I bring a light mesh backpack to store the removed clothes

This is a beautiful pond, surrounded by dense forest. It is the perfect picnic spot!
