The McCullough Memorial Bridge marks the entrance to Oregon’s South Coast and is remarkable. Named after Conde McCullough (1887-1946), one of the most prominent bridge engineers in the United States, it is considered one of his greatest designs. As you approach this impressive mile-long bridge, you know that you are about to cross something special. If you have the time, go to Ferry Road, and you can walk under the bridge from the south side. Looking north at the underside of the bridge is like standing in an enormous cathedral.

Located about 30 minutes outside of Eugene, the Carpenter Bypass Trail System provides nearly 20 miles of trails. You'll find a mix of trails that can accommodate most riders, and they're all accessible via Carpenter Bypass Road. The land is managed by the BLM and the Disciples of Dirt Mountain Bike Club (DOD) deserve thanks for doing a lot of the trail maintenance.

View point to see the Oregon Dunes. It is a great place to stop to see the dunes from a distance before taking the trail down to see them up close.

Its unique design, featuring concrete arch approach spans and a steel cantilever through truss, showcases artistic portal bracing. Beautiful pedestrian stairways adorn the abutments, making it a true work of art.

As the first on the Oregon Coast, the Umpqua River Lighthouse offers a rare climb to its top. Beyond its historical significance, the lighthouse, and museum narrate the area's past and the U.S. Coast Guard's role. The highlight is at the pinnacle, where visitors witness the intricate workings of the spinning red and white prism, appreciating both its function and the craftsmanship behind its design.

The Conde B. McCullough Memorial Bridge, a cantilever structure gracing U.S. Route 101 near North Bend, Oregon, stands as a testament to meticulous design and detail. Recognized on the National Register of Historic Places, it replaced ferries, symbolizing cultural and economic significance.

Chambers Railroad Covered Bridge is the last remaining covered railroad bridge in Oregon, if not the entire Western US. It was originally built to haul timber to the mill in Cottage Grove, but was left to the elements after the railroad closed in the early 50s. The city took control of the bridge and refurbished it in 2011 before opening it to bicycles and pedestrians.

The Centennial Bridge is so named because it was built in celebration of Cottage Grove's 100 year anniversary. Though it is much newer than the other covered bridges in the area it is built with salvaged timber from decommissioned bridges.
