At this point, the General Creek finishes its run through the mountains and ends in Lake Tahoe at Sugar Pine Point State Park.

Cronan Ranch Regional Trails Park is a popular spot for hiking, trail running and mountain biking. There are around 12 miles of well maintained trails to choose from. The trails can get busy at peak times, so make sure you are respectful of other users.

Monroe Ridge Trail is a beautiful path on the banks of the South Fork American River. It is a moderately challenging trail due to the elevation change. It is a well maintained and well-marked trail.
