The former Hög train stop was a part of the historic railway network. The history of Swedish railways reveals that many smaller stops and stations, including Hög, have been decommissioned or repurposed over time. The Swedish rail network peaked in coverage around 1938 and has since been scaled down, with many old stations no longer in use. Efforts have been made to preserve railway heritage by repurposing old station buildings rather than demolishing them.

Beautiful little church

Åsarp-Smula Church is the third church of the order on this site. In the 12th century, Norra Åsarp Church was built in Romanesque style with a strong tower. At the beginning of the 19th century, it was decided that the parishes of Norra Åsarp and Smula should build a joint church. Norra Åsarp Church was demolished in 1829 to make way for a new church building. The new church was consecrated in 1830, when the medieval church in Smula was also demolished. The new church turned out to have many defects, so they were forced to demolish it and build a new one, which was completed in 1883. The new church reused the foundations, parts of the walls, and the tower of the previous church. The church was built in the Neo-Gothic style according to drawings by Helgo Zetterwall.
