Low Gap sits in a low section of the ridge and features a rustic shelter that is a crucial stop for Appalachian Trail hikers. Although it isn't the highest point on the trail, its strategic location makes it an ideal base for more ambitious hikes, such as the ascent to Horsetrough Mountain. The surrounding Chattahoochee National Forest provides a serene setting, enhancing the overall hiking experience.

Tray Mountain, standing at an elevation of 4,430 ft, ranks as the seventh-highest peak in Georgia. Reaching the summit involves a continuous climb through a lush forest, and once at the top, you're rewarded with a stunning view of the rolling hills in the area.

Located in the heart of Yonah Preserve, this beautiful lake, surrounded by wildflowers and several blooming trees, is a favorite among local fishing enthusiasts. Turner Reservoir features a small set of rapids a short distance off the trail on Turner Creek, which feeds the reservoir. Swimming and boating are not allowed, so it's the perfect place for a peaceful and quiet escape.

The summit of Rocky Mountain is just off the side of the Appalachian Trail. There is also a nearby campsite at the end of the short spur trail. There is a view through the trees at the peak, which is most often approached from the east via Unicoi Turnpike.

The trails at Yonah Preserve as multiuse trails open to hikers, runners, and mountain bikers. The trails are well-maintained and easy to follow. There is a large network of trails and not all intersections are marked so knowing your route ahead of time and taking a map can be helpful.

Yonah Mountain is a 3,166-foot peak that is easily distinguishable during the drive to the trailhead. The mountain has a rounded, treed summit. There are some campsites at the top, but most people do the hike as a day hike. The trail is rocky and steep at times, but it is doable if you just take your time. There are also a few smooth cliff edges so make sure to have some edge awareness.

There is a small trailhead located at Hogpen Gap for the Appalachian Trail. There is a sizable parking lot off the side of the highway from which the AT extends in two directions.

The trail to Raven Cliff Falls is a popular one lined with streams and cascades in a thick forest. Even though the trail has small waterfalls all along the way, the pinnacle of the trek is the 40-foot Raven Cliff Falls. There are a few primitive campsites along the trail if you're looking for a longer wilderness trip.
