The Rödesund Bridge, spanning the Göta Canal at Karlsborg, is one of the most iconic crossings along the waterway. Built in 1931, it replaced earlier wooden bridges and provided a stronger, more reliable connection between the shores of Lake Vättern and the town. Designed as a bascule bridge, it lifts to allow boats and sailing vessels to pass, creating a unique meeting point between road traffic and canal life. With its elegant structure and scenic setting, the bridge is not only a piece of functional infrastructure but also a symbol of the canal’s living heritage. Today, watching it open for passing boats remains a charming spectacle for both travelers and locals.

This is a large country style church and worth a visit. Not far from here there is another interesting little forest chapel about 4 km north of Undernäs.

Undenäs Church is a church building in the Karlsborg Municipality of Sweden's Västra Götaland County. It is part of the Undenäs parish, which is part of the Diocese of Skara. The church is connected to the Undenäs cemetery.

The approximately 1,000 m² adventure golf course is located three meters from the Göta Canal. If you don't want to play adventure golf yourself, you can sit on the outdoor terrace and enjoy an ice cream or a coffee while the boats glide past on the canal.

The fortress should accommodate 6000-8000 men. Within the wave, a town with residential buildings, a hospital and workshops grew up based on the civilian model. The bulwark was based on the Prussian fortresses in Posen and Ingolstadt. The southern frontage is clad in massive blocks of limestone, while the brick facade facing the fortified city looks more civilian with its large windows. The terrain south of the forest ditches could be shot from the 287 loopholes. The construction of Karlsborg Fortress is considered to have been completed around 1910. As it took 90 years to build, the fortress became obsolete over time. Today, however, it continues to serve as a barracks with a central warehouse and place of training.
