Ames Mansion, built in 1910, is one of the main attractions in Borderland State Park. The mansion was the home of Blanche Ames Ames, an inventor who was involved in art, farming, engineering and politics. Now, the mansion is open to park visitors and has been used in several films, including Ghostbusters, Shutter Island, and Knives Out.

East Beach is a wide, sandy beach in New Bedford Harbor. There is a paved path that runs along the coast that gives you access to the beach, so it is a great spot for a break while out on a longer walk.

Long Pond is so name because its width of 1 mile is much smaller than its 4 mile length. It's a popular location for all sorts of water sports, especially fishing. Public access is available on the south shore and there is a boat launch charging $10 for parking.

A focal part of Borderland Park, Ames Mansion dates from the early 1900s. The mansion has been featured in a number of movies, as recently as 2019 “Knives out” and 2016 “Ghostbusters.” Guided tours of the mansion are available.

Puds Pond, located within the beautiful Borderland State Park, is a serene spot popular for fishing, particularly for largemouth bass. It is an idyllic and tranquil environment that is perfect for jogging.

Borderland State Park is a stunningly beautiful park spanning 1,843 acres of land. It has a 20-mile network of wooded trails popular among runners, hikers, cyclists, and horseback riders. The park also houses the famous Ames Mansion, built in the early 1900s. Visitors can tour the mansion, go canoeing, and learn about the park's history at the visitor center. It is important to note that a pass is required to visit the park, which is available at the main parking lot.

Leach Pond was created in 1825 to provide water for an ironworks in Easton. It was formed by damming the Poquanticut cedar swamp. Pond Walk trail leads between the Leach and Upper Leach ponds. You'll spot many birds in the area as well as turtles and salamander.

The view of East Branch Westport River is lovely from here with wide views of the river. You can also take a break on the beach on the southern side of the road before the bridge.
