There is a short accessible path to the overlook from Highway 50 with restrooms and three stone benches. You can leave the crushed gravel path to the overlook and climb up on the rocks of the shoreline to get a better view. This spot is well worth the stop!

You can locate the trailhead for Van Sickle Bi-State Park by Montreal Avenue and Park Avenue. This trail offers a quick and stunning hike to a small waterfall, along with beautiful panoramas of Lake Tahoe. The lower part of the trail is easy, winding through boulders, while it gradually becomes a bit steeper and more moderate about 10 minutes into the hike. Along the way enjoy views of Mt. Tallac and South Lake Tahoe.

Due to this the Lodge just on the Nevada border side has all of the requisite Nevada slot machines and black jack tables. The lake itself if popular for fishing, sailing, and other watersports; with a number of hiking and ATV trails around the area as well.
