Nice opportunity to stretch the legs on a short hike. The falls are more like cascades but nevertheless really pretty - but the lower (and prettier) section needs sure-footedness in order to access (it’s steep, in parts muddy and slippery and rocky). Parking was no problem when we were there in October- but I can imagine that in summer this place can get crowded.

The trail (from the cabins to Devil Garden) is currently only accessible for about 700 meters. After that, it is littered with fallen trees. Avoiding it is not possible. However, other trails, such as Bluff Mountain, lead from the parking lot. This trail is cleared and very beautiful. You can also follow the signs. It's impossible to get lost.

Renowned for its stunning beauty, the falls feature a main drop of approximately 25 feet, followed by a series of enchanting cascades. A serene oasis, perfect for relaxation and nature photography. The short and easy trail leading to the falls makes it accessible to people of all ages.

This restored farm provides a vivid portrayal of the hardships and resilience of early settlers. Once one of sixty homesteads surrounding the mountain, the Hutchinson property now stands as a testament to the self-sufficient lifestyle of these pioneers. You can explore several original buildings, including barns and a blacksmith shop, offering a tangible connection to the past.

Warrior Creek Trail has several great switchback sections. This one is in a sort of half-pipe area, making you go up and down at every corner.

Brinegar Cabin is located at Milepost 238.5 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's a restored structure offering history about homesteading and the surrounding landscape from the late 1800s. It's easy to start reading all the informational signs and walking around the short paths near the parking area, making this a great place to visit after a bike ride on the parkway.

The Lump Overlook is at Milepost 264 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The trail to the grassy hillside is pretty popular since it is so short and so easy to follow. This "mountain meadow" is super popular for flying kites and model airplanes and picnicking. The overlook views out onto the trail and the hillside. The overlook can be crowded by trees, but the super short walk up the hill provides great views of sunrises and sunsets, especially in the fall months when the leaves start to change colors.

The Lewis Fork Overlook is not one of the most popular stops on the Blue Ridge Parkway simply because of how overgrown it has become. This viewpoint at Milepost 270.2 is great for looking at rolling ridgelines with a forest setting in the foreground, but all views of the actual river (Lewis Fork) are completely blocked by trees.
