Because of the temperature and the high humidity, I recommend running there in the morning. There is a paved but soft running track in the middle of Robinsons Preserve. Very pleasant to run and beautiful.

This park features an indoor recreation center, a playground, a basketball court, shuffleboard courts, an open field, three pickleball courts, a tennis court, picnic tables, and restrooms. A nice path takes you around the area, offering beautiful views of Sarasota Bay.

Eloise Werlin Park serves as the gateway to the path spanning the Ringling Bridge. It is separated from Ringling Bridge Causeway Park by a small marina and boat launch and backs up to a large parking lot.

Braden River Nature Park is a more low-key spot to enjoy Florida's natural beauty. Fishermen have caught bass here in the ponds around the park, and gopher tortoises, ospreys, and red-shouldered hawks frequent the area. This nature park is more off the beaten path, so it may be an opportunity you can enjoy all to yourself.

De Soto National Memorial is a 6.84-acre national memorial to the explorers' landing site. Here visitors can find a living-history camp, exhibits, and beach trails. The historical 1539 landing of Hernando de Soto brought not only European explorers but also cruelty toward the native people and rampant diseases. This area is open every day of the week from 8 a.m.–5 p.m., aside from Monday, when the park is open from 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
