Unveiled on his birthday in 1966, the bronze sculpture commemorates Hemingway, who tragically ended his life five years prior in nearby Ketchum.

Penny Lake, situated in Blaine County, Idaho, USA, graces the Smoky Mountains within Sawtooth National Forest. Nestled along Warm Springs Creek, it rests adjacent to forest road 227, west of Dollar Lake and the town of Ketchum, offering a tranquil retreat in the heart of nature's embrace.

This is a man-made lake with a dam wall at the southern end. At the norther point is vehicle access / parking, a pontoon for water activities, a volleyball court and some picnic tables.
