Unless you have your own watercraft, you will need some sort of public water transportation to get to this trail. There are local businesses that offer water taxi service to and from the trailheads, as well as a variety of boat rentals, from canoes and kayaks, to fishing boats and pontoons. The National Park Service does not offer this.

It was quite muddy so the boardwalk was a welcomed sight! There are a few boardwalks throughout the trail. Regardless, the mushrooms that lined the trail are very interesting. If you take the shortcut through the wetlands, you might see some beaver activity!

Observe the transition between deciduous and boreal forests at this curious viewpoint of wetlands engineered by the North American Beaver. It is also possible to see a variety of birds: from warblers to woodpeckers, Raptor are not uncommon as well.
