Utö has long played a role as a semi-remote but accessible military training site near Stockholm. This includes tank and armoured vehicle movement training on forest roads, the area around the Utö–Ålö connector road is one such former training corridor. Keep moving!

Gråberget (“the grey hill/rock”) is quite a common name in Sweden. Here on Ornö, you'll find a small but distinct hill with great views across the western shores.

Ornö Kyrkviken (literally "The Church Cove") is a pretty little guest harbour in a sheltered bay. There's a Deli and pizza restaurant, bar & bistro and cafe very close by - perfect for relaxing and watching the boating activity on the water.
