The Cheaha Wilderness spans 7,245 acres next to Cheaha State Park, established in 1983 and expanded five years later. Hikers in this area will climb up the elevated terrain and enjoy overlooks with panoramic views.

Bluegrass Point offers some nice views, visible between the trees, mostly later in the fall and winter when the trees are bare. The Burgess Fire Tower foundation remains sitting at the peak of Bluegrass Point, dating back to 1936.

Chandler Springs is a hidden treasure in the Talladega National Forest where Blue Creek and Talladega Creek join, and the Pinhoti Trail passes over the join on a bridge. This area is also home to the Pinhoti Ridge Retreat, where log cabins are for rent.

Bulls Gap Trailhead gives access to the Pinhoti Trail on Alabama Highway 148. There are informational posters, maps, and a few parking spots.

Cheaha Creek is a constant companion for much of the Chinnabee Silent Trail. The trail itself has an interesting story that, no doubt, is relevant to its name: It was constructed in 1977 by a Boy Scout troop from the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind.
