Tradition has it that this hermitage was built by Pedro I of Aragón, who enthroned the image of Our Lady of Ganza that he used to carry into battle. That image was consumed by woodworm and was replaced by another, which in turn was destroyed in the Civil War. Now there is a reproduction of the previous one.

This hermitage is dedicated to the patron saint of nearby Baells. There, an active neighborhood association with the name of the Saint, wove a huge mural with strips of recycled plastic using the crochet technique and with it they decorate the hermitage during the patron saint festivities.

From this part of the track you can enjoy an incredible view of Montsec d'Ares and Montsec de Rubies. This is the central part of the Montsec mountain range, which stretches between the cliffs of Montrebei in the west and Terradets in the east.

Estopiñán del Castillo has the gigantic Canelles reservoir, the spectacular Santa Ana reservoir and an ophite stone farm that has supplied the AVE between Zaragoza and Tarragona.

Its spectacular Templar castle has witnessed ten centuries of a hectic military history. It was erected by the Muslims; later it would be the seat of the main Templar encomienda of the Crown of Aragon, where the infant Jaime I, future king of Aragon, was educated. Currently, the castle houses an interesting Interpretation Center where you will be introduced to the fascinating world of the warrior-monks of the Order of the Temple.
