The Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba is one of the most impressive monuments in the world, a symbol of Islamic art in the West and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984. It was originally the Visigothic Basilica of San Vicente, shared by Christians and Muslims. In 784, Abd al-Rahman I began construction of the mosque, which was expanded by his successors: Abd al-Rahman II, Abd al-Rahman III, Al-Hakam II, and Almanzor. After the Christian Reconquista in 1236, it was consecrated as the Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady, and in 1523 a Renaissance basilica was built inside.

Medina Azzahra, a palace city located a few kilometers from Córdoba, began construction under the Caliphate of Abd al-Rahman III. Construction continued under Al-Haqin II. A third of the revenues of Muslim Spain were needed to build this fortress and official residence. Twelve thousand workers worked tirelessly, with workers from Byzantium and Baghdad arriving. The descriptions of Arab chroniclers portray Medina Azzahra as truly dazzling, a fact that has been further confirmed by excavations. The city was surrounded by a robust wall, with several spacious courtyards inside. Numerous rooms have come to light, but much remains to be excavated.

The Molino de Casillas is one of the old water mills found along the Guadalquivir River in Córdoba. These mills were historically used to grind grain and other agricultural products, taking advantage of the power of the river's water. The Molino de Casillas, in particular, is an example of the hydraulic engineering of the time and offers an interesting insight into life and economy in times gone by. Although some of these mills are in ruins, others have been restored and can be visited.

1월 10, 2025, Molino de San Antonio
The origin of the Molino de San Antonio probably dates back to medieval times. There are documents from the 18th century that confirm that the original building was a single storey building. It was a flour mill and owes its name to an image of Saint Anthony that was once located in a niche in the façade. It was in operation until the mid-20th century, when the building was used to build boats to cross the Guadalquivir. The flooding of the river and changes in the hydraulic system have led to successive structural reforms. Its current state is the result of a rehabilitation project designed by the architect Juan Cuenca and completed in 2008. It highlights the recovery of the wooden roof, the construction bodies, the breakwater and the weir that connects to the other mills. It is currently conceived as an exhibition hall and has permanent visiting hours.

The Roman Gate Triumphal Arch in Córdoba, also known as Arco del Triunfo or Puerta del Puente, is an impressive monument in the historic center of Córdoba. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the Mezquita-Catedral and forms a central part of the architectural ensemble that marks the transition between the old town and the Puente Romano bridge. The triumphal arch has its origins in Roman times, when the area was an important access point to the city. The current building dates from the 16th century and was renovated under the direction of Hernán Ruiz III. The arch was intended to serve as a representative entrance to the city, but was never fully completed. Its neoclassical style was inspired by Roman models and honors the ancient history of Córdoba.
