Be careful, after the Dana, the path that crossed under the waterfall is impassable. So either you go up on the right to visit the small caves, or you go up to the left (castle side) to visit the large caves, but you can no longer do the loop. (Still valid at the end of February 2025)

It was built in 1972 at the confluence of the Cabriel and Guadazaón rivers. The dam height is 129 metres. Its purpose is, among other things, to supply water to the city of Valencia. The Contreras Bridge was built between 1845 and 1851 by the engineer Lucio del Valle. To descend the ravine, he had to build a zigzag road that formed the port of Contreras.

The Cueva de la Garita is a natural wonder located in the Chera-Sot de Chera Natural Park, in the Valencian Community. This place is known for its impressive beauty and its natural surroundings, which include the Chorrero de la Castellana and the Charco de las Lumbres.

Update after La Dana, the fountain is almost destroyed, but the water is still flowing, now at ground level (I put a photo).

A small additional, useful detail: this fountain has water all year round, even at the end of summer.

This single-track trail is magnificent to walk, nothing technical (but if you take it from Chera, it climbs gradually.

The bridge is built of carved stone and is founded with the same rocks that can be found on the banks of the river. Its single eye has about 33 m of span, making it one of the largest bridges of its kind not only in Spain, but also on the European continent.
