10월 18, 2025, Gaztelu / Kukurrustu Summit (250 m)
The summit is 250 meters high and can be reached via a singletrack trail from the forest road. It's best to climb from the Bilbao side and then descend the singletrack towards Basauri. Coming from Basauri, it's not really rideable; pushing would be necessary.

4월 30, 2025, Monumento a Evaristo de Churruca
The Churruca Pier or Evaristo de Churruca Pier is a pier in the Biscayan town of Las Arenas (Getxo). Designed and built by the Spanish engineer Evaristo de Churruca y Brunet, it is located at the end of the Nervión estuary and is named after him, as is its counterpart, the Churruca Pier in Portugalete, located on the opposite bank of the estuary. The Churruca Pier extends along the right bank of the Nervión mouth, from the Vizcaya Bridge onward. It is divided into two parts: The first serves as a street, extending from the Vizcaya Bridge to the landscaped area known as Churruca Park, which includes several tamarind gardens and connects to the Las Arenas Pier and Las Arenas Beach. This first part consists of a promenade parallel to the estuary, a small garden separating it from a one-way road, and a sidewalk on the other side of the road, which provides access to the homes. The second part consists of a landscaped promenade and extends beyond the beach. This is the pier itself, the structure built by Evaristo de Churruca, which allowed the channeling of the Nervión River. It consists of two pedestrian walkways, separated by several garden areas, which connect at a small plaza at the end, where a small lighthouse stands. At the beginning of the pier is the monument to Evaristo de Churruca, a huge obelisk depicting man struggling with and conquering the sea (represented by Neptune, the Roman god, in a position of defeat). This image symbolizes man's struggle against the sea.

3월 11, 2025, Church of San Nicolás de Bari (Bilbao)
To the right of the bridge leading to the new city of Bilbao, you will find the church of San Nicolas. In the 14th century, there was already a church on this site, but in 1756 it had to be completely rebuilt. The baroque church was designed by architect Ignacio de Ibero and was dedicated to Saint Nicholas, patron saint of sailors. The showpiece of the octagonal interior is the beautifully carved altar.

3월 9, 2025, Arenal Bridge (Puente del Arenal)
Like all the bridges over the Bilbao estuary, the current Arenal Bridge dates from after the Spanish Civil War. During the conflict, they were all destroyed in defense of the city. However, the current design is a reflection and copy of the previous design and together they encompass more than 175 years of history of the city of Bilbao. It is also one of the best known, most beloved and most used routes by the people of Bilbao on a daily basis.

2월 16, 2025, Doña Casilda Iturrizar Park
The Parque de Doña Casilda is the most famous park in Bilbao. The park is also called parque Casilda Iturrizar, named after the benefactor who donated this park to Bilbao. The park was built between 1912 and 1920 in English romantic style and is an oasis of peace in the city. It is located near the Guggenheim Museum and the Maritime Museum on the Nervión River in the Indautxu district. It is a park to stroll through the 8.52 hectares via the many paths and along the decorative fountain or to watch the birds at the duck pond. Since 1940, the museum of fine arts, the Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao, has also been located next to this park.

2월 16, 2025, Plaza Moyúa
The Plaza de Federico Moyúa or Elliptical Square, as it is known to the people of Bilbao, was built in the early 1940s by the architect Jose Luis Salinas. Sixty years later, his son Manuel Salinas was commissioned to renovate this part of the city centre. The square was reopened in 1997 and still has its original elliptical shape and its English and French-style flower beds, with modern steel lampposts and functional street furniture as new features. It also regained its iconic original fountain. The people of Bilbao still consider it one of their favourite meeting places.

2월 16, 2025, Zubizuri Bridge
Via the Zubizuri in Bilbao, also called Puente del Campo Volantin, you literally walk from the old to the new city. Together with the Guggenheim Museum, the bridge is the figurehead of the more modern, renovated Bilbao. The Zubizuri was built between 1994 and 1997. In Basque, its name means ‘White Bridge’. The Spanish architect Calatrava developed the modern metal construction with a glass floor, which later turned out to be not very practical. As a result, the city of Bilbao had to spend more than a quarter of a million to cover the bridge with carpet.

At nearly 9 metres tall, Maman is one of Bourgeois's most ambitious sculptures to feature the spider, a motif that first appeared in several of the artist's drawings in the 1940s and became central to her work in the 1990s. Intended as tributes to her mother, a weaver, Bourgeois's spiders are highly contradictory as symbols of motherhood. Both protector and predator—the spider's silk is used to make cocoons and bind prey—they embody both strength and vulnerability. Such ambiguities are powerfully depicted in the mammoth Maman , which soars menacingly on Gothic-arched legs that serve simultaneously as a cage and a protective lair for a sack of eggs precariously attached to her base. The spider inspires awe and fear, but her enormous size, improbably balanced on slender legs, conveys an almost poignant vulnerability.

2월 11, 2025, Plaza Nueva (Bilbao)
The Plaza Nueva is a beautiful neoclassical square that was built in 1821. This square is the lively heart of the Casco Viejo, the old district of Bilbao. Plaza Nueva is surrounded by buildings, where the lower floor consists of arches. Under these arches you will find numerous pintxos bars and restaurants. The square is therefore ideally suited to grab a terrace at the end of the afternoon and watch the Basque life while enjoying pintxos, the Basque form of tapas.
