This 12 hectare pond was created by Nicolas Rambourg, a famous ironmaster, at the beginning of the 19th century. It offers a beautiful view of the water and the surrounding trees. You can run around the pond on a well-marked path and admire the Futaie Colbert, a grove of hundred-year-old oaks dating from the reign of Louis XIV. Some of these oaks are more than 300 years old and bear names such as the oak of Saint-Louis, the oak of the Resistance or the oak of Sterbing.

Morat pond is private property, but is open to the public for hiking and fishing. You can enjoy this peaceful and historic place in any season, but especially in autumn, when the leaves turn gold and red. The Murten pond is an ideal destination for a relaxing and refreshing hike in nature.

Start this second part well by going left after the bridge. Some big weeds depending on the season but it rides well overall.

Path along the small canal "La Rigole" which was used at the time to supply water to the Berry canal. It was also a communication axis for pedestrians and has been rehabilitated as a hiking trail. A few passages between the trees a bit tight for mountain bike handlebars, but it goes everywhere.

Around the ponds in the Tronçais forest, the wooden footbridges avoid muddy passages for walkers. It is possible to take them by mountain bike even if some start and end with two or three steps. Some cannot be avoided and you have to be careful in rainy weather because the wood becomes VERY slippery!

Among the remarkable trees of the forest of Tronçais, the oak of Pirot near the pond of the same name, is easy to access and is conducive to contemplation (clearly, there are benches :-)). More tortured, lower than others, it denotes; 3.85 m in circumference!
