Lake Aydat is the largest natural lake in Auvergne. It is a volcanic dam nestled in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park. The view of the lake and the volcanoes is superb. Opposite you can see Sauteyras and Aydat beach.

The Puy de Combegrasse, located in the Monts Dore massif, offers a superb hike with breathtaking views of the Auvergne volcanoes. From its summit, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the green valleys, the volcanic plateaus, and, on a clear day, the Monts du Sancy and the Puy de Dôme.

The Fohet Menhir, or Pierre-Longue lying menhir, is a 4.75m high menhir that has remained lying on the ground for a long time. Lying thus, it once served as a site for prayers during the passage of mortuary convoys. It was straightened on December 31, 1991 at midnight by geobiology specialists.

Aydat Lake is located at an altitude of 850 meters. It is the largest natural lake in Auvergne. It was born from the lava flow from two wells. Today, it is a place where several nautical activities can be practiced. I highly recommend a quick stop at the terrace of the La Cocotte Bleue restaurant. The view and the welcome are simply perfect!
