Surrounded by green hills and forests, this reservoir offers a peaceful setting for a stroll or a boat trip. The dam itself, with its panoramic views of the Loire Valley and the Château de Grangent, emerging from a small island, is a striking sight.

This 110 meter long Himalayan-style footbridge is suspended above the Loire. The footbridge rests on the piers of the old bridge dating from 1892. It is reserved for pedestrians and bicycles and connects the town center to Aurec-plage labeled “Aire Respirando”.

I grew up there in Unieux Pertuiset Throughout my youth with childhood friends during school holidays it was every day superb walks in summer and winter from Unieux to Saint-Victor sur Loire and back. in autumn when the Loire burst its banks the hike was impossible the road and the bridges were flooded. on the other hand during the flood we had to go to the grangeant dam because 3 out of 4 valves were open, it was impressive especially with the food supplies.

The climb is about 4 km long with an elevation gain of 280 m. The average steepness of the climb is around 5-6% although there are maximum gradients of 11% towards the summit.

After the bridge, the road rises above the river, giving way to views of the Loire below.

This trail that runs along the Loire gorges is a great way to catch breathtaking views.
