Always nice to drive into Lucerne

In this sharp bend there is a passing place for large vehicles and a bench with a wonderful view of the lake. Here you can safely get off your bike away from the road and enjoy the view of the Uri region.

A must for the Rigirunde

The Lake Lucerne car ferry connects the towns of Beckenried and Gersau, allowing a quick crossing to the other side of the lake. The ferry runs every hour from the end of March to mid-October, and the crossing takes a good 20 minutes. For adults, the trip, including a bike, costs twelve francs.

If you are not in a hurry on your bike tour on the Horwer Peninsula, it is worth stopping here and enjoying the view over the lake. The bench is not only suitable for sitting, but also perfect for leaning your bike against and taking a nice souvenir photo... ;-)

At the St. Jakob cable car station you have pretty much reached the end of the Isenthal, at least with a racing bike. The asphalt road ends a few meters further ahead, so turn around here and enjoy the descent back to Lake Lucerne.
