Charming alpine hut with a terrace and farm atmosphere – directly on the trail between Schwarzsee (Gypsera) and the Euschels Pass. Regional specialties: goat cheese, fondue, dried sausage, homemade desserts, and cheese sales directly from the farm. Host: The Bapst family has been running the hut for over 100 years – family-friendly and authentic. 🚶 Route Integration: A frequent stop on hikes from Schwarzsee via the Euschels Pass to Jaun (circular tour approx. 13 km, ~5 hours, 700 m elevation gain). Access: The hiking trail leads through forest and open alpine meadows to the hut. From there, you can continue towards Breccaschlund and Riggisalp.

The Schwarzsee, also known as Lac Noir, is idyllically situated in the canton of Fribourg (Sense district) and is part of the Gantrisch Nature Park. With its deep, dark water and surrounding peaks such as Kaiseregg (2185 m), Schafberg, and Spitzfluh, the lake offers a fascinating panorama. 🌅 Highlights & Activities Surroundings & Nature: The moorland and alpine pastures surrounding the lake are rich in species – with cotton grass, reeds, coots, and dragonflies – ideal for walks and nature observation. This alpine cheese dairy and snack bar is located at the top of the Balisa Pass, which connects Schwarzsee and La Valsainte / Charmey. You can enjoy the views of the mountains and valleys, as well as the aroma of cheese made from the milk of 25-30 cows. You can also visit the cheese factory and taste some of its delicious products, such as Alpmutschli, a small round cheese. La Balisa / Buvette & Fromagerie d'alpage is an ideal destination for a rewarding and tasty run.

The Riggisalp mountain station lies just below the majestic Kaiseregg peak and is the starting point for many wonderful trails through the stunning Breccaschlund valley, from where you can admire views of the lake and mountains.
