A wonderful gem in the immediate vicinity of Herzogenbuchsee. Water frogs croak around the weather. The divers proudly show off their four young, which, intriguingly, have red heads, while their parents, typical of divers, have white "mirrors" vertically across their foreheads and noses. Highly recommended if, like me, you're out on your new eBike for the first time, to experience all the features an eBike offers, such as: Rohloff gears, automatic seat post, ABS brakes, Komoot, no wait: Simply everything you've known from your "biobike" for 60 years, and now feels wonderful with electric assistance. And: If you wanted, you could also go 45 km/h. But 36 km/h in Bosch Limit mode, i.e. 11 km/h entirely under your own muscle power, is all the more fun, and in weather made for the gods.

The Aeschi church is one of the so-called "Twelve Thunerseekirchen" which, according to a legend recorded in the 15th century, were built on behalf of King Rudolf II. Hochburgund, 922-926 King of Lombardy. More or less serious architectural interventions took place at the turn of the 13th and 14th and especially in the 16th century. The Burgäschisee, sometimes also simply Aeschisee, lies on the canton border of the cantons of Bern and Solothurn, with around two thirds on the Solothurn canton area. The lake is located in the municipalities of Aeschi (SO) and Seeberg (BE) at an altitude of 465 meters above sea level. The lake is fed by the Füürstein Canal, while the Seebach flows out. The natural lake is almost 700m long and 500m wide and is surrounded by a forest and reeds. The lake is located in a nature reserve.

A nice spot of maritime seclusion. Except in dream weather and weekends. Then "nature" is really something going on here. There is a swimming pool, boat rental and a well-frequented restaurant called Seeblick. The parking lot is large and chargeable. It will be fined!

Beautiful, well-developed circular route. The lake is well visited on sunny days / weekends / holidays. A visit at off-peak times can be worthwhile.

Small lake with lido and other swimming opportunities. You can walk or ride around on foot or by mountain bike. A well-known restaurant, the "Gasthaus Seeblick am Burgäschisee" is highly recommended!
