Steep but short stretch. Nice for photography

Situated on a site adjacent to the Strabane bypass, the 'Let the Dance Begin' sculpture by Maurice Harron is an ensemble of five stainless steel and bronze figures. Commissioned by the former Strabane District Council in collaboration with the Strabane Lifford Development Commission, this artwork symbolises the transition to the new millennium. The statues, standing at an impressive height of approximately 30 foot (10 m) have affectionately been named "The Tinnies" by the locals.

Gortin is a great place to begin and end a run. You could visit The Auld Bank Coffee Shop for delicious breakfast, lunch, coffee and snacks, or, if it's a cold pint a pub lunch you'd prefer, you could check out Mossey's Bar.

Gortin is a pleasant town situated in the heart of the Sperrins in County Tyrone. The town is nearby to a number of wonderful walks including Gortin Glen Forest Park, Mullaghcarn & Craignamaddy. There are also a few pubs in the town, such as Mossey's Bar and O'Neills.

There is plenty to see in Castlederg for history lovers. On the pilgrim's route to Station Island on Lough Derg, it boasts monastic ruins as well as the impressive Castlederg Castle which is set in beautiful parklands accompanied by a sculpture trail.

Newtownstewart is a historic village with Baronscourt Castle as a notable attraction. Nestled in the scenic Sperrin Mountains, it offers outdoor activities like hiking and boasts a heritage-rich atmosphere with well-preserved architecture.

The road passes between Oak Lough and New Lough and it is an absolute joy. With water either side of you, surrounded by hills, forests and heathland its what bike riding is made for.

Formed from a glacial overflow, Barnes Gap is truly breathtaking. On your way up, don't forget to take in the spectacular views. The gap cuts through the east-west crest line of the southern Sperrin Mountains ridge, between the hills of Mullaghbane and Mullaghbolig.
