카리부 산맥 최고의 워킹 & 하이킹 경로

정말 장관입니다. 약 3km의 짧은 하이킹은 충분히 할 수 있습니다. 폭포 아래로 내려가는 길은 돌이 일부 매우 미끄럽기 때문에 약간 더 어렵습니다. 하지만 보상은 있습니다.

머틀 강은 캐나다에서 가장 아름다운 강 중 하나임에 틀림없습니다. 카리부 산맥의 빙하 발치에서 시작되는 머틀 강은 클리어워터 강의 가장 큰 지류입니다. 36km의 짧은 구간 동안 머틀 강에는 웰스 그레이 주립 공원의 상징적인 헬름켄 폭포를 포함하여 일곱 개의 이름 있는 폭포가 있습니다. 다행히 강을 따라 이어지는 트레일이 있어 이 짧지만 멋진 강을 즐길 수 있습니다.

140미터가 넘는 높이에서 헬름켄 폭포가 웰스 그레이 주립공원 형성의 주요 이유 중 하나였던 이유를 쉽게 알 수 있습니다. 이 장엄한 폭포는 번잡한 여름 시즌의 주요 볼거리이지만, 이 지역은 겨울철 아이스 클라이머들에게도 인기가 있으며 폭포는 "아이스 클라이밍의 요세미티"로 알려져 있습니다.

Clearwater River Trail winds through a lush forest to Triple Decker Falls and beyond to Candle Creek Falls. The trail is fairly steep at times, so good footwear and trekking poles can be helpful.

This dirt pull-off from Clearwater Valley Road is the trailhead for the Clearwater River Trail. There is a small site set up by a local church for borrowing trekking poles and returning them at the end of your adventure. There are no restrooms or water fountains here, so come prepared.

Triple Decker Falls is a three-tiered waterfall, cascading roughly 60 meters over volcanic rock into a pool at the bottom. The forest around the falls is dense, and the trail is easily accessible from Clearwater Valley Road. After heavy rain, the falls will flow more strongly, but be careful on the trail, as it can get slippery.

Canim Falls are a set of large falls formed where the Canim River drops about 25 meters. Stairs and viewing platforms make it easy to get a glimpse of these stunning cascades. Spring runoff makes it especially dramatic, and in the coldest months of winter, the falls can freeze. They are also surrounded by forest and basalt cliffs, and the thick forests make the area feel truly wild.

Mahood Falls is a dramatic waterfall tucked into the backcountry on the path to Canim Falls. The falls plunge over 30 meters through a narrow rock chute, creating a loud, powerful display, and are easily accessible, with a wild atmosphere.
